Althea THC 10:CBD 12

Althea THC 10:CBD 12

Product details

Origins

Althea has crafted this oil using two cannabis strains – Afghani Skunk and CBD Auto’s Charlotte. Afani Skunk is a hybrid strain with a split genetic composition between Indica and Sativa varieties (85%/15%), created by crossing Afghani and Skunk #1 strains. CBD Auto’s Charlotte is the Sativa dominant strain.

Composition

Althea THC 10:CBD 12 is a medical cannabis oil containing 10mg of THC and 12mg of CBD per 1 ml. This product is available to purchase in a 50ml bottle and only by patients with a prescription from a medical practitioner.

Althea THC 10:CBD 12 uses MCT carrier oil that increases the bioavailability of the product. This is because medium-chain triglycerides are saturated fats that are easily digested by the human body, which means that cannabinoids like CBD and THC can enter the bloodstream quicker. MCT is odourless, colourless, making it a perfect ingredient for this medical cannabis oil.

Storage

Storing your cannabis product correctly will prolong its life. Keep it in a cool, dry place and away from sunlight. It’s essential to keep this product (and any cannabinoid product) out of the reach of children and animals.

Dosing guidelines

The guidance provided here is not intended to be medical advice – patients will discuss their dosage guidelines with a medical professional independently before beginning their treatment.

The product is designed for sublingual use. This means dropping and holding the oil underneath the tongue until it is absorbed. The onset time is between 10-20 minutes, and the duration of action is 2-4 hours. Patients can also mix this oil with their food and drink, which is a good option for those users who don’t like the natural taste of cannabis. With oral consumption, the onset time is 1-2 hours and the duration of action is between 6-10 hours. Other factors like age, weight, metabolism and lifestyle (to name a few) can influence these times and durations.

Extraction

The oil is created through ethanol extraction. This technique is a popular method among producers of medical cannabis oils as it releases the maximum potency of cannabinoids, flavonoids and terpenes. Since ethanol is a potent solvent, manufacturers are able to extract not only the above compounds but also elements like B. chlorophyll.3.
